St. Andrew's, Highland Park Thursday, December 7, 2006, 8 p.m. A holiday recital featuring tenor Mark Spondike and the young people of the Rogers CAPA Middle School Madrigal Choir will follow the service of Choral Evensong at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church on Thursday evening, December 7, at 8 p.m. The service, sung by the Choir of St. Andrew's Church, under the direction of Peter J. Luley, will feature traditional Advent readings, with canticles (from the Short Service) and anthem ("O Thou the Central Orb) by Orlando Gibbons. The recital will feature traditional music and carols of Advent and Christmas, sung by Mr. Spondike and by the Rogers-CAPA Madrigal Choir. All are welcome. A festive seasonal reception will follow the recital in the Parish Hall. St. Andrew's is located at 5801 Hampton Street, between North Highland and North Negley Avenues, one block south of Bryant Street and four blocks south of the park, in the East End Pittsburgh neighborhood of Highland Park.
