Hello Neighbors, Please try to attend the upcoming CeaseFirePA Pittsburgh meeting on Tuesday evening, September 23rd, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Joe Grace, our Executive Director, will be in town to meet with us. Also planning to attend are representatives from the District Attorney's office who will discuss their gun task force and give us a status of the group's activities, representatives of Pittsburgh City Council and the police department. Joe Grace will give us Harrisburg and D.C. updates and we will discuss upcoming local gun violence reduction initiatives. The location for the CeaseFirePA meeting on Tuesday, September 23, from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. is: First United Methodist Church 5401 Centre Avenue Pittsburgh PA 15232-1621 This is the very large church in Shadyside at the intersection of Centre Ave., Negley Ave., Aiken Ave., & Baum Blvd. It is across from a Courtyard by Marriott hotel. FOLLOW SIGNS TO THE CHURCH LIBRARY. **Please enter through the door on the Aiken Ave. side of the building (facing the Courtyard by Marriott hotel). There is a small parking lot there and also metered parking on Aiken Ave. There is a larger parking w/ entrance on Centre Ave. across from Panera Bread. The door on that side of the building may not be open, so I suggest you walk past the front of the church to the Aiken Ave. side and enter at the wooden doors there. The church is very interested in CeaseFirePA & some members of the congregation will be attending. Please invite an interested friend or colleague. Remember, our priority is to grow our coalition, make our collective voice louder in Harrisburg, and fight back against the NRA's goal of allowing concealed firearms in all public places.
