Volunteer Opportunities Be part of a grassroots effort that is changing Pittsburgh at the very heart of its neighborhoods! Almost 2,000 people from across the street and across the country have given almost 20,000 hours toward the Union Project and our innovative efforts to transform a formerly abandoned church into vibrant space for artists, community builders and people of faith. Participants have deepened their investment in the city - and their relationships with fellow volunteers - and in the process, restored a 15,000 square foot historic landmark! Our ongoing operations center around social enterprise and innovation and we depend on the support of volunteers like you to make meaningful contributions to efforts in restoration, children's activities, marketing, community events and more. Check out www.unionproject.org to learn more about us and about how you can get involved! For more information, contact duane@unionproject.org or 412-363-4550 x 5. Summer Sponsors We are very excited for all of the activity we have planned for this summer, but we do not have enough staff to facilitate these programs! We are asking you to support two of these programs by participating in our Summer Sponsors program. This is a volunteer program that requires your organization to provide four volunteers a day for one week of the summer, excluding Sunday. This program is designed for you to engage a diverse group of your constituency. The summer lunch program is an ideal opportunity for senior citizens, small groups, high school students and stay at home parents and the market is perfect for those who work during the week. Please help us provide these opportunities for our neighbors. Contact hilary@unionproject.org or 412-363-4550 x6 with any questions or to arrange a sponsorship. _______________________________________________ update mailing list update@unionproject.org http://unionproject.mennonite.net/mailman/listinfo/update.unionproject
