[Highland Park] 5th Annual PSO Community Engagement Concert on Saturday, June 2nd
Hey Neighbors! The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (PSO) is returning to East Liberty for a fifth annual Community Engagement Concert at East Liberty Presbyterian Church on Saturday, June 2nd at 7:00 p.m. PSO Resident Conductor Lawrence Loh will conduct works by Holst, Mozart, Delius, and Schubert. Featured in this performance will be PSO musicians, Jennifer Orchard, Violin, and Marylene Gingras-Roy, Viola, in Mozart's Sinfonia concertante. A pre-concert student recital will be held at 6:00 p.m., featuring students from Dilworth Elementary, CAPA Middle School, and the EL CEO (East Liberty Community Engagement Orchestra) from Hope Academy of Music and the Arts. A bake sale, and post-concert student recital featuring members of the Obama Academy 9th and 10th grade Steel band will be held immediately following the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra concert. Tickets: $10 - Adults $ 5 - Students & Seniors 60+ FREE - Children and youth 18 and under with adult Tickets may be purchased online at Brown Paper Tickets. Or through the East Liberty partner schools (Dilworth, CAPA, Obama, Hope Academy of Music and the Arts). Tickets will also be available at the door the evening of the performance (Cash only). All ticket proceeds from the concert will benefit music education programs at the following participating schools: Dilworth Elementary, Obama 6-12, CAPA Middle School, and Hope Academy of Music and the Arts.
