Once again the neighborhood has shown how wonderful it is! Three days ago we announced that we were collecting food and financial donations to put toward 30 bags of Thanksgiving trimmings for the folks served by Vintage Senior Center. Since then people have dropped off 16 bags of food and contributed more than enough funds for us to purchase what's needed for the remaining bags. We will still accept contributions through next Thursday and any additional food or funds will be donated to Vintage; food and gift cards can be left at 1315 N. Sheridan Ave and online contributions can be made at HPPCPgh.org (the shopping list is still posted there, too). A special shout out to the family that included two delightful children's Thanksgiving drawings in their bag! If other kids would like to contribute pictures, please bring them by - - I think that they would be a nice addition to the bags and surely brighten anyone's day! Also, as a heads up, we are working with some other community organizations to provide more opportunities for giving and for serving in December - so stay posted! Thank you again for your generosity.
