RE: FOCUS/NRP - Angel Tag/Christmas Gifts
Hi there Neighbors – We are blown away by the outpouring of generosity, as all the Angel Tags we were issued have been spoken for, so we are now making a waiting list, as we see if there are more to be gotten. Other organizations and churches have received theirs, and we are seeing if they have more than they can fulfill. Please keep making the requests, and we shall follow up with each person individually. Thank you again, and restating that we are so impressed with our neighbors helping out !!! Every year, the Neighborhood Resilience Project in the Hill (formerly known as FOCUS Pittsburgh) — asks the local Orthodox Churches for help with Christmas gifts for the area children and seniors. Each Church has a Christmas tree decorated with angel tags featuring the names of the children and their gift ideas. Even with a few hundred tags that are distributed to these churches, there are always more people that need help. That’s where our group comes in to gather additional gifts. Last year, there were about 40 people that were unaccounted for and with your help, we made it happen. We even personally went out and purchased the requested Gift Cards for those who just wanted to simply give money, trying to make it easier for those wishing to help out. A large number have already been spoken for, and the Neighborhood Elves are already out shopping for their Angel Tag Gifts. There are currently 6 Senior ($25 Target Gift Cards each) & 6 Children’s Angel Tags remaining in what we were sent, but we are sure additional ones could be gotten if there is more interest . We would pull a name(s) out for you, and would take care of making sure that your gift would be put into an actual person’s hands for the Holidays. Children’s Angel Tag requests would be e-mailed to you in time to make a purchase, and then we in turn will pick these up from you, and deliver to NRP in time for the Holiday delivery. If you are interested, please e-mail us your contact information, and what you would be interested in donating to help those out in need, especially with this year’s isolation that some are feeling. If you would be willing to donate a Minimum $25 gift for children — ideas will be on a tag — or a $25 Target gift card for senior citizens. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Once again, please e-mail us back (and please include your Phone Number for questions), should you be interested in giving again this year of Angel Tags for NRP/FOCUS, and are looking at picking up on the first week of December, so please respond with your interest !!! Looking forward to hearing from those that wish to open their hearts to others this Holiday Season !!!
