[Highland Park] Sign the Letter to Ban Electronic Billboards
Dear Supporters of Scenic Pittsburgh, The Pittsburgh City Council will soon vote on the proposed zoning ordinance regulating electronic billboards. Scenic Pittsburgh supports many of the provisions in the proposed ordinance regarding business premises signs, and video entertainment venues. Unfortunately, the ordinance still allows for the conversion of hundreds of existing billboards to electronic billboards. New billboards could also be built in places where they are currently prohibited. Now is the time to tell Mayor Ravenstahl and Pittsburgh City Council that our beautiful and scenic city should not be used a backdrop for commercial advertising. Go to www.scenicpittsburgh.org/getinvolved.html and SIGN THE LETTER telling your elected officials that electronic billboards do not belong on our skyline or in our scenic views. Your name will appear on our website and a copy of the letter and signatures will be forwarded to the Mayor and City Council. Working together works. It is fundamental to democracy.
