I am sending this out on behalf of Jan Stayianos. Jan had a man come to her door and ask for money. He has been seen in Highland Park and Friendship. He is about 6 foot 1 inch, good-looking and well-groomed, medium-skin black man with a mustache. He often wears a towel around his neck. He had on a NY Yankees cap. He says something like "I live right up here My car broke down, and I was going to use James. Do you know James?" Uses other folks names, like you are supposed to know them. "I have a tow truck coming from the South Side. They are going to charge $82.00. I am short $10. Can you help you out?" Said "Excuse my appearance" several times and that he would have the money back by noon. He was on Farragut, Heberton and Stanton. Was on Jackson Street on Friday night. Seen in Friendship area also. If you see this man at your door, don't give him money. Call 911 immediately to report that this man has been seen scamming around the neighborhood. Also call Jan Stayianos at 412-363-8208.
