Hi HPers, I got a call at 9:08 a.m. today (11/5) from a Mr. "A-men" on Baywood (?) who called (from a private undisclosed number) and said he is just three blocks from me and then dove right into a long, weird tale about how he cleans carpets for "these ladies" and only charges half what the "other companies" charge. I had to stop him to ask who he was again. He was that obscure over the phone. I told him we don't have carpets to make him go away. He said he'd clean the couches. I said I don't have any. He hung up. Sooooo,I don't know, beware unlisted-phone callers who talk endlessly about cleaning textiles and say they're just around the corner from you. Maybe he was checking to see if someone was home? He had nothing specific to say either about cleaning or carpets or couches. (Sorry Mr. Whoever-you-are if you really do live around the corner from me and clean carpets for an honest living, but *man* were you weird and pushy.) -b
