Education Innovations, Inc. is proud to present our newest initiative: learn*pgh, the next big thing in higher education in Pittsburgh, is higher education with a twist: no-fuss learning in the spaces we work, live and play. Brief Description Education Innovations, Inc. is unveiling a new initiative called learn*pgh, which will offer higher education classes at cafés, restaurants, pubs, and other gathering places throughout Pittsburgh. Staring in October, look for Literature, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Film, Math, and Jazz Clinics at various locations around Pittsburgh including Whole Foods Market, Tazza Doro, Café Bliss, Crazy Mocha, Shadow Lounge, and a private 2-loft residence in the Strip. Longer Description Pittsburgh cafés, pubs, restaurants, and parks become learning venues where a variety of people partake of university-style courses that meet their individual learning goals. Gone are the grades, report cards, and credits. What remains is unadulterated learning in environments that are comfortable, inviting, and above all, conducive to learning. Join us at our unique learning venues in many Pittsburgh communities. Classes meet once per week for two hours and are taught by educators from organizations around the city. All classes are 6 weeks, except language classes, which are 8 weeks. Food is included in every class. In many of our classes, food is incorporated in the lectures. (All language classes this term are primers, intended for beginners.) Look for the following learn*pgh courses starting in October 2004: * Conversational language classes: Spanish at a 2-loft private residence in the Strip, Italian at Tazza Doro, German at Café Bliss), and French at Whole Foods); * No-tears math class at Whole Foods Market; * Inca Myth and Reality (Literature) at Café Bliss in Point Breeze; * Jazz History and Clinics at the Shadow Lounge in East Liberty; and * Film Criticism at Crazy Mocha in Bloomfield.
