Many many thanks to everyone who shared information about Zumba classes in and around the Highland Park area. Your responses were greatly appreciated. Per the request of some of our fellow listservers here are the results of my original request to: Please share information that you may have about low cost gyms, where membership includes classes (zumba) or any stand-alone zumba classes that may be taking place in the area. 1. *Club One *(Membership required) (Waterworks) - Trudy Holler teaches Zumba there. 2. *Union Project,* Wednesdays, from 6:00-7:00 for $5 3. *Kingsley Association *(membership required)- has Zumba, Yoga, Line Dancing, Fitness Classes, a gym, AND swimming pool 4. *LA Fitness *(membership required)- 9 Zumba classes per weekQuote from suggester: "I wouldn't call them affordable" - $15 per day to work out without guest pass or membership A few other things about La Fitness: There is a women's only space for those women who don't want to be in a mixed gym. There is a ton of aerobic equipment. There is a cinema room where you can get on a bike, treadmill or eliptical and watch movies on a big screen The parking is enclosed and free for up to 3 hours. Easy to get from car to gym and back dry. I find people very friendly here. Some people feel a bit intimidated. I think if you look around, you see every age and body type. No need to get intimidated. The size of the club can be a bit overwhelming at first, but isn't so bad after you are used to it. and the classroom is kept very clean IMHO. You can also go to the LA Fitness at Southside works or Robinson, though those are a drive. 5. *Regent Square Zumba*-http://www.zumbainthesquare.com/ Quote from suggester: "I cant recommend them highly enough"- $7.50 per class, $66.00 10 class punch card or $57 monthly unlimited pass. Has Zumba classes every day except Friday. 6. *Modern Formations* (on Penn Ave), 4919 Penn Avenue. Pittsburgh PA 15224 CURRENT ZUMBA SCHEDULE*: *Monday and Tuesdays: 6:45 - 7:45pm Saturdays: 10am $7 per class/$55 for a class card (10 classes on each card) $5 per class/$40 class card with student ID!!! ALL CLASSES ARE 'DROP-INS'...Pay as you go!! You do not need to pre-register! NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY!!! http://modernformations.com/zumba/ 7. *MT Ararat Church* offers Free classes on Monday and Wednesday. Didn't get a time. 8. *The Pittsburgh Zoo!!!* 5:30 to 6:30pm every Monday and Wednesday. This is after the zoo has closed and is taught by a Zumba instructor, it is 5$ a class.
