[Highland Park] Services for Ollie Reiley
Dear Friends, Our good friend, great Highland Park neighbor, and long-time HPCC member and Newsletter editor Ollie Reiley died yesterday, after a long illness. We all, I know, from our various backgrounds and traditions of life and faith, remember him with many prayers and blessings, and with much affection--as we at the same time would encircle Betty and their children and wider family with love and care. Services will be Monday morning, October 2, at 10 a.m., at the Shadyside Presbyterian Church, 5121 Westminster Place, Pittsburgh. I've been invited to be a part of the pastoral leadership of the service, and have been asked to say a few words in particular about Ollie's life and work and many friendships in the neighborhood. If you have any thoughts, reflections, memories, stories, etc., that you'd be willing to share with me by e-mail this weekend, that would be very nice. I'll try to include what I can in my remarks--and all will be passed along to the family, I know with their appreciation. The best e-mail to get to me will be <rector@standrewspgh.org>, though the address above will work fine. Thank you, Bruce Robison
When I let the dog into the back yard this morning, I found my next-door neighbor's purse in the grass. Her credit cards were gone. The garage had been broken into, her bike stolen, and her window smashed in her car and her purse snatched. Her bike was a Giant, SE Boulder silver and red mountain bike, if you see it. best, Liz Buchanan 6106 Jackson Street --------------------------------- Talk is cheap. Use Yahoo! Hello all, They must be making the rounds. We awoke to find our garage riffled AGAIN. As we haven't replaced the bikes they stole last time and haven't been carrying cds in the car, nothing was taken but an (empty) cd case. We filed a police report anyway.
