[Highland Park] Casinos and Community
Dear Highland Parkers (and other Pittsburgh communities), Education Innovations, Inc. will be sending out a press release urging our law makers to demand that casinos usher in a new era for the Pittsburgh region by concentrating on our educational stock and communities rather than by building arenas. We will be arguing that the economic effect of committing casino money to improving the education of our students-increased achievement and graduations, college, apprenticeship programs-and concentrating on workforce/entrepreneurship training for young and young-at-heart alike is larger, will last longer, and has the greatest potential to revitalize the region. Their knowledge transformed to action will last longer than the average life of any arena that can be built. Our students are the future of the region and they need as much help as they can, especially as our school district needs help both academically and financially. We are seeking other like-minded organizations-for profit, non-profit, community development corporations, etc.-to join with us. Please contact me below if you'd like to add your voice. We need more voices!
