Brighton Heights House Tour
Hello Neighbors, Saturday, Sept 7, 11a-4p, is the 18th Annual Brighton Heights House Tour. For 35+ years I lived in Highland Park but 5 years ago moved to BH. Last year, our home was on the tour and we had many folks from Highland Park who supported the home tour and met several old neighbors. We had such a wonderful time last year, we are opening our home again on the tour. (Whether you're opening your home to the HP Home Tour or the BH Home Tour, it's a great way to get that honey do list completed!) I want to thank my HP'ers for supporting the BH House Tour last year. In many ways, BH reminds me a lot of HP. While HP will always be close to my heart, BH is a wonderful neighborhood, the northern most one in the city. If you love old homes, like to get decorating ideas, or remodeling ideas, please support us. My own 1902 home will give you ideas on how to give a plain looking cinder block garage a face-lift with paint, trellis and corbels, how to take an ugly porch and redo it using reclaimed spindels, corbels and installing a terracota tile floor to make it more period correct with the style of the house, ideas for a ginormous bathroom that can accommodate wheelchairs without looking institutional, plus, a poolhouse/greenhouse created from reclaimed windows and doors from around Pgh - including my old home in HP. Other homes on tour are some adorable bungalows and stately homes. After the tour, enjoy the festivities at our Legion Park. There will be live music and Allegheny Brewing and food vendors will be there. If you are on FB or Instagram, check out "Houses of Pittsburgh" there's some teasers posted there. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased via eventbrite, link below. A TROLLEY WILL BE AVAILABLE TO TAKE FOLKS BETWEN HOMES. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/brighton-heights-house-tour-2024-tickets-947623... Hope to see you! Thanks much!
