[Highland Park] thanks to Patrick Dowd's office, Verizon, and Duquesne Light
Hi, all, I have been trying for a good while to find time to send out this thank you. Last summer, I lost my phone service twice. It took a while for me to figure out what was going on, but it turned out that it was a telephone pole in the alley behind our house that was starting to lean so far over that garbage trucks were often hitting it when they drove down. I was afraid that a winter storm would bring the pole completely down, and there were a lot of wires connected to that pole and a street lamp was on the pole too. So I contacted Verizon, Duquesne LIght, Patrick Dowd's office, and 311. I would really like to commend everyone. It took a number of months because it was a complicated project, but the telephone pole was replaced and all the wires transferred. Even before it was replaced, the other pole had been secured well so that it wouldn't fall over in a storm. Patrick's office (especially Emily and Jennifer) was so very helpful and so were Verizon and Duquesne Light (possibly the mayor's office too - I just didn't interact with them very much). Thanks everyone. janet jai
