Today, slightly after noontime, I noticed 2 men on my porch who were trying to open the door. They had rung the bell or knocked, just walked up and tried to enter the house unannounced. Ken went to the door to ask them what they wanted and they claimed they were looking for "John" ( no last name or company) to do a job on stairs. They had no visible tools. I suspect it's much more likely they were checking out the house. I have never seen them in the neighborhood before. They left and walked eastward down Elgin St. to the corner of Mellon, talking on a cell phone the whole time, and then disappeared from view. Within a few minutes, we noticed that they had retraced their steps onto Elgin, and had walked the opposite way, westward, to the corner of Elgin and Negley. At that point they both got into a black Cadillac (?) and drove south on Negley. Both men were African-American. The younger looked to be about in his early 20's. He was wearing royal blue exercise pants, with gray shorts layered on top, a putty colored jacket, and a plaid tall bucket style hat. The older man looked to be in his late 30's or early 40's. Has anyone else had anything similar happen to them?
