Re: [Highland Park] Cutting Back on Junk Mail
Thank you Sarah, great to know! If anyone is sick of all the catalogs they receive, I've found www.CatalogChoice.org did a great job cutting way down on my junk mail. CatalogChoice.org makes specific requests to each company (Crate & Barrel, Gap, etc) to remove your address. I just noticed PennySaver is listed there so I’ve made a request to stop those mailings as well (fingers crossed!). In case anyone had trouble finding it, the direct link to the RedPlum removal page is: www.redplum.com/tools/redplum-postal-addremove.html Good luck! -Jeremy On Mar 1, 2014, at 7:40 AM, Sarah Heppenstall <fairdinkum.fells@verizon.net> wrote:
I was told by the post office that we can apply to the mass mailing organization, Red Plum, to have our address removed from their mailing list. I am not sure how much of the coupon junk mail which comes to our house is from this source but I just went on-line (RedPlum.com) to request to be removed from their mailing list. It will take 5 to 6 weeks but in 5 to 6 weeks I will instruct our mail carrier not to deliver this tree-wasting junk to my address any more. Taking five minutes to call any company that sends you unwanted catalogues will help too. Think about taking measures yourself to lighten our mail carrier’s load and save a tree!
