This is likely an odd request, but I thought it worth a shot. I am currently trying to repair my front porch (largely I seem to be repairing someone elses repairs - which seems to be the way with most jobs on this house). I am going to have to do it a bit piecemeal, as time and funds are tight - so I am focussing on the major problem now, and will make my way to all corners later. I have almost finished stage one; rebuilding the deck, and will be wanting to jump onto the scary bit of fixing the roof section asap. To this end, I have a favour to ask: Does anyone have any large planks I could borrow? - in the region of 2" by 8"+ by 14ft or so??? While I have already braced the roof with the two I have, I now need to think about lifting the roof up, and pushing it back to the house, and I could use a couple more to accomplish this. I thought I would ask, as I am guessing I am not the first to undertake this kind of scary task, and suspect someone might have such beasties lying about awaiting a second incarnation. In similar vein, and for the same task; if anyone has any scrap pressure treated wood lying around from some project ?? I would be interested to hear, as a bunch of this repair is going to be patchwork (this is dictated by needs, not as a shortcut - I can see that much of the wood is still sound, and that the parts that will need replacing, in some instances; are small) - 1" x 10", 1" x 8", 2" x 8", 2" x 10", I suspect, would all be of use. If anyone can help, I would be deeply grateful. Cheer Brett
