Great friends at Slippery Rock University are sending this around. Some of us might be moved to join in with their efforts -- From: Durbin, Daija M [mailto:dmd1026@sru.edu] Sent: Wednesday, September 26, 2018 1:43 PM To: Subject: Hurricane Relief Effort Many of us have spent summer and spring breaks in the very communities that were recently slammed by Hurricane Florence as well as those now overcome with flooding from the heavy rains. Most of us have felt a need to help in some way, but many don't know what to do. The Student Nonprofit Alliance has offered to coordinate a campus-wide relief effort for victims of Hurricane Florence. SNA's involvement also furthers our members' professional development as these students will one day be in positions that coordinate these types of initiatives. Attached is a pdf document/flyer that explains how you or groups of which you are a part can join the Slippery Rock University (SRU) "Friends Against Florence" campaign which will run through Oct 12, 2018. Individuals can make a monetary donation through www.srufoundation.org/snahurricane< https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.srufoundation.org%2Fsnahurricane&data=02%7C01%7C%7C1359ff18fabc4112bfba08d623edbff2%7C86555dba073b4ff7b7d1b73a77c5bd92%7C0%7C0%7C636735901663505007&sdata=aNEvR78%2BgZjZvxQ%2BmTYqhohPiO4%2BtZj7Wrz6fdjY1bk%3D&reserved=0> to one of three North Carolina relief agencies which you will choose. If groups want to host a fundraising event to support Friends Against Florence, they can do so and then deposit the funds through www.srufoundation.org/snahurricane< https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.srufoundation.org%2Fsnahurricane&data=02%7C01%7C%7C1359ff18fabc4112bfba08d623edbff2%7C86555dba073b4ff7b7d1b73a77c5bd92%7C0%7C0%7C636735901663505007&sdata=aNEvR78%2BgZjZvxQ%2BmTYqhohPiO4%2BtZj7Wrz6fdjY1bk%3D&reserved=0> or make a check payable to SRU Foundation/SNA Hurricane and bring to the Dept of Interdisciplinary Programs 200 Spotts. Again, your group will designate to which of three relief organizations you want your funds to go. Thanks in advance for disseminating widely this info so that our campus can join together for people who have lost so much. SRU is indeed a caring community of lifelong learners connected to the world!
