Upon their arrival, officers found the 26 year-old male victim awake, alert, and in stable condition. He originally told ER staff that he was shot in a jitney while riding on the parkway. He then told ER staff he was shot somewhere in Wilkinsburg. Finally, he told them he was shot in a bar in Homewood, but would not elaborate. Detectives are investigating to determine where this shooting actually occurred. (74623) *4/22/19 Aggravated Assault (Domestic) - 1200 block Nolan Court, 11:20 AM.* A 25 year-old male victim reported that he was involved in an argument with his girlfriend, *Alexis Davis, 22, of Monroeville.* According to the victim, Davis grabbed a knife and sliced the knuckles on his left hand. The victim had deep lacerations and bleeding to his hand. Officers arrived on scene and arrested Davis. EMS transported the victim to UPMC Shadyside for treatment. (74866) *4/22/19 Theft from Vehicle - 1000 block Stoneville Street.* Loose change was stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight. (75238) *4/22/19 Theft from Vehicle - 8300 block Perchment Street. *Loose change was stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight. (75217) *4/24/19 Robbery (Domestic) - 7500 block Bennett Street, 12:45 PM.* Officers responded to a violent domestic and arrived to find a 20 year-old female victim, who told them that her son's father assaulted her. The victim stated that *Isaiah Beatty, 24, of Homewood,* punched her in the head, then pushed her down and began choking her. Officers noted injuries to the victim's face. The victim stated that Beatty tried to steal her primary cell phone but was unsuccessful, but did steal another phone that she had. The victim was not seriously injured. Officers will obtain an arrest warrant for Beatty. (76471) *4/24/19 Kidnapping - 7400 block Mt. Vernon Street, 8:00 PM. *Officers responded to a report that a 1 year-old girl had just been abducted from a home on Mt. Vernon Street. Officers arrived on scene and met with the babysitter, who advised that a known individual, *Nayshell Sly, 27, of Homewood,* entered the residence and took the baby girl. A city-wide BOLO ( *B*e *O*n *L*ook *O*ut) was put over the police radio and Sly was soon located by an attentive Zone 3 officer, who noticed Sly's vehicle in the area of 20th & Carson, in the South Side. Sly was taken into custody and charged with Kidnapping and Burglary. The baby girl was taken to the hospital for a routine exam, then returned to her mother, unharmed. (76782) *4/26/19 Shots Fired - 600 block Hale Street, 4:07 AM.* Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert and arrived to find multiple shell casings on the ground. A 53 year-old female victim pointed out a bullet hole in the door of her home and told officers that she was inside the residence with her four kids, ages 10-22, when she heard shots. Thankfully, nobody was injured. The house next door also sustained bullet damage to a window, but nobody was inside the residence at the time of the shooting. There is no suspect or vehicle description at this time. (77730) *4/27/19 Carjacking - Susquehanna Street & El Court, 2:15 AM.* On 4/27 at 12:00 PM, Zone 4 officers responded to a home in Point Breeze for a theft report. Upon arrival, they learned from the 34 year-old male victim that he had been carjacked ten hours earlier, in Homewood. The victim indicated that he was driving on Susquehanna Street when he pulled over to retrieve his cell phone that fell between the seats. When the victim briefly exited the vehicle, a car pulled behind him and two unknown men approached him and demanded his personal belongings. One of the men then hit him over the head with a blunt object and stole his phone and some cash, before driving off in the victim's 2018 black Chevy Tahoe (PA plate KSL-3609). The victim suffered a lacerated forehead, a bruised eye, and several cuts on his arm. He went to UPMC Monroeville during the night for treatment. (78689) *Larimer / Lincoln-Lemington* *4/26/19 Robbery (Domestic) - 1300 block Grotto Street, 12:45 PM. *Officers responded to a report of a violent domestic and arrived to find a 22 year-old female victim with a cut to her lip. The victim reported that she was in a verbal argument with her husband of one month, *Rodney Culberson, 25, of Lincoln-Lemington,* when Culberson began to physically assault her. He then took her phone from her hand when she attempted to call 911, and fled the scene with the phone. Officers will obtain an arrest warrant for Culberson. The victim was not seriously injured. (77946) *Bloomfield / Garfield / Friendship* *4/22/19 Theft from Vehicle - 5500 block Margaretta Street.* Sunglasses, clothing, and a vehicle registration were stolen from a parked car overnight. No signs of forced entry into the vehicle. (74869) *4/25/19 Aggravated Assault - 5200 block Broad Street, 8:50 PM. *Officers responded to the area for a ShotSpotter alert. While in route, they learned that a home had been struck by gunfire. A 17 year-old male met officers at the door and told them that he was on the front porch when a black SUV drove down the street at a high rate of speed and someone inside began firing shots at him. Officers located a bullet hole in the front door of the home. The victim had no further description of the shooters. Detectives are investigating. (77526) *4/26/19 Burglary (Domestic) - 100 block N. Mathilda Street, 2:00 AM.* Officers responded to an unknown trouble call, where a neighbor called 911 to report screaming from across the street. Officers arrived to find a 26 year-old female victim, who indicated that she had just been involved in a violent domestic. According to the victim, an argument began when she and her boyfriend, *Jose A. Martinez, Jr, 26, of the West End,* were in the South Side. It continued back at the residence on N. Mathilda Street. Eventually, Martinez left the victim's residence, but a short time later came back and kicked the door off of the hinges. In doing so, he caused an injury to the victim's hand. He also damaged the victim's vehicle before fleeing. Officers will obtain an arrest warrant for Martinez. (77690) *4/27/19 Burglary - 4400 block Woolslayer Way.* Victim purchased a home on Woolslayer Way during a sheriff's sale on April 3rd. On April 27th, he went to the residence to ensure it was ready for inspection, when he noted that the interior had been ransacked and vandalized. Drywall was damaged, copper pipes were stolen, as were appliances and light fixtures. The toilets were destroyed and empty beer cans were littered about the house. There were no signs of forced entry and the victim believes the crime was committed by the previous tenants. (78843) *4/27/19 Theft from Vehicle - 4000 block Cabinet Street. *Victim reported that his 9mm Taurus pistol and a small amount of cash were stolen from his unlocked vehicle. (78737) *4/27/19 Theft from Vehicle - Harriet Street & S. Graham Street.* Victim stated that he vehicle was entered and ransacked but nothing was stolen. No signs of forced entry into the vehicle. (79551) *East Liberty / Highland Park* *4/22/19 Theft from Vehicle - 500 block N. Beatty Street. *Victim found her car ransacked. Nothing appeared to be missing. Vehicle was left unlocked. (74908) *4/23/19 Robbery - Stanton Avenue & N. Highland Avenue, 11:15 PM. *A 22 year-old male reported that he was walking in the area when he felt someone punch him in the head. The victim fell to the ground, at which point he was punched and kicked by four unknown males. The males demanded his cell phone and book bag. After the assault, a passerby saw the victim in need of help and took him to the hospital, where police were called. The victim was in good condition. (75395) *4/26/19 Theft from Vehicle - 700 block Portland Way, 5:15 AM. *Victim reported that he forgot something in his residence and parked his vehicle momentarily to run back inside. The victim left his car unlocked when he went inside. When he returned moments later, his wallet and cell phone were gone. The wallet contained several credit cards. The victim soon received an alert that one of his credit cards had been used at a gas station in Brookline. (77756) *4/27/19 Theft from Vehicle - 800 block N. St. Clair Street.* Victim reported that clothing and loose change was stolen from her unlocked vehicle. (78235) *4/28/19 Aggravated Assault (Domestic) - 5600 block Penn Avenue, 1:59 PM. *Officers responded to a report of a violent domestic and arrived to find a witness who told them that a man had just been run over by a car. Officers soon located a 34 year-old male victim with minor cuts and bruises. The victim indicated that he was in an argument with the mother of his child, *Tanisha Blair, 29,* *of the Hill District,* when she drove towards him and struck him with her vehicle. The victim reportedly rolled up onto the hood. Blair was arrested at the scene. The victim was not seriously injured. (79530) *Morningside / Stanton Heights / Waterworks* *4/27/19 Theft from Vehicle - 1600 block Morningside Avenue. *Victim reported that her bookbag, a Louis Vuitton wallet, and an expensive calculator were stolen from her car overnight. No signs of forced entry into the vehicle. (77808) *4/27/19 Theft from Vehicle - 1100 block Morningside Avenue. *Victim reported that someone entered her unlocked vehicle overnight an stole jewelry. (78620) Crimes listed in the above report include: Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Robbery, Burglary, Arson, Stolen Cars, Thefts from Vehicle, and Overdoses. *We do not list information for car accidents, retail theft, harassment, minor assaults, etc. * *This Week's Notable Arrests* *4/28/19 1:32 PM 7800 block Tacoma Street Arrestee: Juvenile Male, 17, of Penn Hills Summary:* Officers Blair and Claflin responded to a ShotSpotter alert on Tacoma Street, indicating nine shots had just been fired. While in route, an update was given over the police radio, describing five males who were observed running from the scene after the gunfire. Officers Blair and Claflin turned onto Susquehanna Street and encountered three males who matched the description of those leaving the scene. As officers went to conduct a pat-down, one of the males admitted that he had a gun. Officers recovered a 9mm Glock pistol from the juvenile. A check of the serial number showed that the gun was reported stolen out of Swissvale. The juvenile was arrested. A search incident to arrest revealed a Crown Royal bag filled with bullets inside the juvenile's backpack.
