OPEN ARTIST CALL We are seeking artists working in all media to participate in the 2nd Annual Artists of The Union Project Holiday Sale, starting November 27th and closing December 15th in the Great Hall of the Union Project. Dear Friends of Union Station Cafe, If you have visited the cafe in the months of September and October, you are aware that we are growing and changing rapidly. These changes have been effected with the intention of better serving the needs of our community and our customers. As with all periods of rapid growth in both people and businesses, we are experiencing a few growing pains. Please be patient with us during this time of change and know that we are working diligently to correct any problems and address all service and product-related issues. Best Regards, Olga Watkins, Cafe Manager NOVEMBER 3 - FIRST FRIDAY @ UNION PROJECT – APPRECIATION NIGHT 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm On Friday, November 3 the Union Project will hold an evening of celebration and appreciation for those who have offered their gifts and time to further the mission of the Union Project. Come join us as we recognize Susan Indrisano, Board Chair for the U.P. as the 2006 Volunteer of the Year and dedicate the Foltz Board Room in honor of board member emeritus Robert S. Foltz. Stained glass restoration demonstrations, Olga Watkins Trio, appetizers and drinks will be part of the celebration for volunteer service. NEW CLAY CLASSES ANNOUNCED & COOP IS BEGINNING Check out for more information on clay. Our upcoming classes are already filling up. Union Project’s clay cooperative has several openings for more advanced clay artists. More information can be found on the website as well. Or email clay@unionproject.org or call 412-363-4550 ext. 22 Open Studio Class #6C15 Join our own Union Project clay artists and others in the open studio. No formal instruction will take place, but students are invited to come and work in a cooperative atmosphere. We can all “learn by osmosis”. Open studio work times will be scheduled in 8-week sessions. You could pay by the week, at $15/week, or you may sign up for the whole 8 weeks for $100, which represents a $20 savings for you. Wheel throwing for beginners No class has been scheduled however, please email clay@unionproject.org if you are interested and we will work to schedule a class. MLK COMMITTEE The Union Project is preparing their annual M.L.K, Jr. event and are looking for community individuals to serve on the planning committee. If you are interested in participating please email Hilary at hilary@unionproject.org. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED We’re starting to recruit volunteers for our annual Christmas Tree Sale, beginning at the end of November.
