The community is cordially invited to attend the release party for the recently completed Allegheny Riverfront Vision plan. Thursday, March 17, 2011, 7–9pm — Lawrenceville Historical Society’s 2011 Lecture Series - The Life of a WWI Doughboy

The Lawrenceville Historical Society Lecture Series is free and is held at Canterbury Place, McVay Auditorium (1st Floor), 310 Fisk Street, Lawrenceville. The neighborhood of Lawrenceville is blessed with one of the nation’s best Doughboy statues. This month, Lance Leonard, a local WWI re-enactor and historian, will talk about the experiences that were common for a WWI soldier on the front lines. Are you concerned about library or transportation funding in the state budget? The future of various programs will be made clear next Tuesday, March 8, when newly-elected Governor Tom Corbett presents his 2011-12 budget to the public. Please take a moment to write Governor Corbett and other local legislators to let them know how important libraries and transportation are to you and Pennsylvania at large. It is time to advocate for your library and transportation.
