Hey everyone, Thought I would give an update on my stolen bike. There seems to be so many negatives regarding the Pittsburgh Police that I wanted to write with a positive development. The Pittsburgh Police, particularly a detective at Zone 5, were able to arrest the man who stole my bike. Apparently, the guy who stole my bike was caught stealing other bikes, and they were able to ID him through the video that Target provided. Unfortunately, my bike was sold off, so it wasn't recovered. But the good news is that they caught the thief. Hey everyone,
Thanks for the kind words and the concern.
I wanted to note that I spoke to the Target security office, who were more than helpful, and they were able to determine when the bike was stolen (~5:25 on Tuesday), how it was stolen (boltcutters through my lock), and they had surveillance video of the person that did it. They told me to contact Zone 5 police to file a report, and that they would give a copy of the tape to the investigator.
Again, thanks for the concern.
