The Allegheny Regional Asset District (RAD) is sponsoring RADical days '08 - a yearly event where organizations that receive RAD funding offer free events to the public.

Personally, I was unaware of this annual event until today. There seem to be a lot of kid-friendly events that young families could experience for free.
