LIQUOR CONTROL BOARD HEARING SCHEDULED Regarding Sandy's Deli a.k.a. Highland Park Deli Thursday, July 6th, 2006 10:30 am Two Parkway Center 875 Greentree Road, Suite G-8 Pittsburgh, PA 15220 CARPOOLING IS AVAILABLE On July 6th 2006 there will be a hearing concerning Sandy's Deli a.k.a. Highland Park Deli, and the transfer of liquor license to allow the establishment to sell beer and other malt beverages. For the future good of our neighborhood, we need to stop this transfer. The only argument we, as neighbors, can make is whether Sanford Mankin is a reputable and responsible individual as required under the Liquor Code. Since he has show over the past 10 years that he is not, we have a strong case, and we need a mass of people to show up at the hearing to get the message across. However, in addition to our complaint, there are TEN other complaints that the city, state and Liquor Control Board have against this transfer, including "The Board shall take evidence to determine whether it should permit the operation of another business (deli) on the licensed premises, pursuant to Section 3.52(c) of Title 40 Pennsylvania Code." In addition to that, the main complaint comes from Jim Ferlo and a protest was also filed by one of our favorite Police Commanders Maurita Bryant! We have a chance to make real and lasting CHANGE in our community. Please come to the hearing and show your support.
