He got an old upright Kawai (that had been sitting at a quarter-tone flat for a dozen years or more before it was moved here from Chicago) sounding very good, and we've had him back a couple of times. 412-367-3155 ---------------------- A FRIEND, WES (412-716-0490) DOES SOME REPAIR + TUNING. HE'S A STUDENT AND MAY CHARGE LESS. ----------------------- I like Joe Bryan--don't have the number handy but he is in the phone book ----------------------- We use Brian Baily for our upstairs piano at church. The Tuesday Musical Club uses Peter Stumpf for the piano in the church. David Westfall also tunes pianos. ----------------------- We have been using Brian Bailey to tune our piano for many years. He tuned the pianos for the Pittsburgh Symphony for 20 years. His basic fee is $130. (412) 828-1538 He tunes the Steinways for the Duquesne music school. -------------------------- I used Bill Larson (wwlarson@verizon.net) 412) 661-8985 He just lives over in Morningside, so it was easy to organize and he did a great job. -------------------------- Ken Pearson 412-563-8088 We've used him for a number of years and have been pleased with his work. ---------------------------- Jack Longmore is very good- but very busy. He schedules by region, so is hard to get on short notice unless he's in the neighborhood. 412-734-1525 ------------------------------- Our accompanist at First Unitarian Church is skilled at piano tuning, and he lives nearby, in Morningside. His name is Bill Larson, and you can contact him at wwlarson@verizon.net. ------------------------------- We use Peter Stumpf. A nice man with a wife and kids. He usually spends about 90 minutes and it costs us around $90-$100. I think it's pretty much the going rate. Please let me know if you find someone with better rates. Phone # : 412-881-3067. ---------------------------------- hands-down the best tuner in Pittsburgh is Brian Bailey -- 412 422-4366. We use him for ours, and at the church . . . . (He also tunes for the PSO.) ----------------------------------- Gloria Mayo, 724-327-9206 She responded quickly to my phone calls, came promptly, did a good, thorough job and was honest enough to tell me my piano wouldn't need annual retuning since its pitch has been stable for years. Not too expensive, either, though I don't recall exactly how much I paid her. She was also able to replace a missing key, so she can do repairs as well as tuning. -------------------------------------- I have used Amy Marshall, (724)935-9420, with good results. -------------------------------------- Brian Bailey's Number is 412.422.4366 ---------------------------------------- "Brian Bailey works on my piano. He lives in Sq. Hill and he works for Heinz Hall as well as MCG Jazz. --------------------------------------- Bill Larson does piano tuning (including my own and most of the pianos at our church). His number is 412-661-8985. ---------------------------------------- Terry Schiebel did ours. We are satisfied. 412-821-2254 ----------------------------------------- There is a guy called Tom Buckel or Buckle who is in the south hills who has always treated me right. I can get Tom Buckle's number for you from my piano teacher if you can find him. ________________________________ From: neighborhood-bounces@highlandpark.pgh.pa.us [mailto:neighborhood-bounces@highlandpark.pgh.pa.us] On Behalf Of Axel Claussen Sent: Tuesday, March 06, 2007 6:12 PM To: neighborhood@highlandpark.pgh.pa.us Subject: [Highland Park] Piano Tuner needed Hello Everyone, can anyone recommend a piano tuner, please?
