X-MAS TREE
SALE BEGINS NOV. 27TH
Fraiser Fir, Canaan Fir, Concolor Fir,
Scotch Pine and Table-Top Trees will be on sale at the Union
Project’s Annual X-Mas Tree Sale will begin Nov. 27th and run until
Dec. 23rd. Trees prices will begin at $20. Trees, wreaths and stands will
be on sale weekdays 4pm-9pm, Saturdays 10am-9pm and Sundays 12pm-9pm. For

Book Release Party
Local illustrator Brooke
Rothshank will be celebrating the release of her first children's book,
Cups Held Out, at the Union Project on Friday, December 1, 2006 from 6-9
pm. Come to the Union Project to meet the illustrator and the hear music
by Trent Wagler and the Steel Wheels and by Keith Hershberger. Both
musicians will also be celebrating new album releases. This event is free

– UNWRAPPED HOLIDAY SEASON
The Union Project’s
UnWrapped 2006 Holiday Season, “A celebration of art, sound and
community begins on December 2nd at 7pm with a kick-off event featuring
the Centro Flamenco de Pittsburgh, the Pentecostal Temple Mass Choir, the
Oriental Star Dancers, El Coro Latino Americano and the First United
Methodist Church of Pittsburgh Bell Choir and a live auction. This season
will also include the annual holiday art sale and two themed happy hour
events with special guests on December 8th and December 14th. More

ANNOUNCING
GLASS ACTION & CALL FOR APPRENTICES
Glass Action is
a stained glass restoration social enterprise that will employ low-income
individuals in the art of stained glass restoration. We will target
historic structures in need of stained glass restoration that may not be
able to afford going-rate restoration and contract with them on an
application-based sliding scale. Glass Action will promote historic
preservation, community and economic development and job creation and
training.
We are issuing a call for applications from ex-offenders
who are interested in FT employment with benefits. Prospective employees
must have demonstrated a commitment to recovery, employment and teamwork.
No skills in stained glass restoration are required, though people who are
good with their hands and able to learn new skills in manual labor are
preferred.
