I vastly overestimated the amount of royal icing I would need for a gingerbread house-making party. We had lots of fun, but I have SO much stuff left:
8 bags of royal icing (I made the icing myself Friday night and filled pastry bags - it has been refrigerated since then and will last at least a week according to the recipe I followed: powdered sugar, egg whites, cream of tartar). This stuff worked great and the pastry bags made it so easy to use! There is enough here for another party...
