MARK YOUR CALENDARS – UNWRAPPED HOLIDAY SEASON
The Union Project’s UnWrapped 2006 Holiday Season, “A celebration of art, sound and community begins on December 2nd at 7pm with a kick-off event featuring the Centro Flamenco de Pittsburgh, the Pentecostal Temple Mass Choir, the Oriental Star Dancers, El Coro Latino Americano and the First United Methodist Church of Pittsburgh Bell Choir and a live auction. This season will also include the annual holiday art sale and two themed happy hour events with special guests on December 8th and December 14th. More information to come as the dates approach. WHAT’S THAT VINYL THING?
Union Project has partnered with the YWCA of Greater Pittsburgh to bring international artist Lynn Johnson’s installation “From Intolerance to Understanding” to the corner of Negley and Stanton Avenues. Be sure to check out the artwork the next time you’re at Union Project. The installation is part of the YWCA’s Community Dialogue on Racism and Race Relations, which will be taking place at Union Project in November. UNUSUAL CRAFTS FOR UNUSUAL TIMES
Handmade Arcade, Pittsburgh’s biggest and best DIY, indie craft fair is Saturday, November 11, 2006! Don’t miss over 100 fun and funky vendors, including Union Project staff members Jess King (homespun/dyed yarn) and Si Brown (ceramics) from all over the United States and Canada.
