I understand that the Union Project won't have trees this year...
Here is an option for those who want a tree and want to support
local farmers!
The Four Frozen Farmers Christmas Tree Lot at
Construction Junction is now on...and will continue
seven days a week until the trees run out! Hours are
Mon-Fri 11-7, Sat/Sun 9-9.
We’ll be offering varieties including the soft-needled
Fraser, Douglas, Canaan, and Concolor Firs. We’ll
also have just a few Balsam Firs, so visit us early to
choose yours. Our trees come fresh-cut from
Indiana
County – the “tree capital of the world!”
Many folks have expressed interest in live trees as
well, and we’re hoping to have a selection available.
We love the idea of greening Pittsburgh, one Christmas
tree at a time! Email us at
fourfrozenfarmers@gmail.com or give Neil a call at
412.956.9873, if you’re looking for a live tree, so we
can get an idea of the number of people interested and
what type you’re hoping for.
We’ll also have a variety of wreaths available again,
all of which are made fresh on site. All wreaths can
be custom-decorated. For
large-quantity orders or to
order ahead, contact Susanna at 412.956.9919, or
susanna.meyer@gmail.com.
Come visit us at Construction Junction, and bring the
family or your friends, to start a Christmas
tradition. We’ll be happy to help you select your
perfect tree at our festive lot, give you a fresh cut
on the trunk, and secure your tree for the ride home.
Delivery is also available.
Happy Holidays, from the Four Frozen
Farmers!
A portion of the proceeds benefit Construction
Junction.

History of 4 Frozen Farmers
The Four Frozen Farmers are a group of four friends
who met through and continue to be involved with
farming, in and around Pittsburgh:
• Joshua Burnett began his tenure in Pittsburgh with
an internship at Grow Pittsburgh, working on Mildreds’
Daughters Urban Farm. He is currently the director of
the Edible Schoolyard Project for Grow Pittsburgh.
He
and his wife Meredith have a very new baby, Katherine!
• Jen Montgomery worked last year for Grow Pittsburgh,
at Garden Dreams, an urban garden in Wilkinsburg.
This year she, her husband Greg Boulos, and their
non-profit organization, Urban Homesteaders, ran
Blackberry Meadows Farm and CSA in Natrona Heights.
• Neil Stauffer, previously the co-manager of
Mildreds’ Daughters Urban Farm, is manager of Penn’s
Corner Farm Alliance. He runs a Community Supported
Agriculture (CSA) program, and works with farmers,
chefs, and local-food-eaters throughout the
Pittsburgh
region.
• Susanna Meyer, who also co-managed Mildreds’
Daughters Urban Farm with her husband Neil, is
currently the Grow Pittsburgh Manager at the Frick
Greenhouse and Gardens. She is happy to have a warm
greenhouse to retreat to in the winter.
