OK many of these have seen these kids, somebody needs to figure out who they are and start calling them by their names and asking how their folks are doing.

I hope the digital divide is not so deep that no one on this listserv actually knows who these kids are, after all they are our neighbors, somebody has to know who they are..

I think if we can strip away anonymity we may be able to subvert some of these activities...

Hi all -
I think the same kids were walking down Farragut Sunday 6pm when my daughter and I were decorating the house for Halloween.  They were glancing in cars as they walked.   I stopped and tried to engage in a little conversation (unsuccessfully) and they ran when they saw my (medium large) dog in the front yard, unleashed.  They screamed quite a few expletives in the process as well.  When they got to the end of the block, they started to beat on the mailbox with sticks.
Not enough to call 911, but there you have it.

Hi folks,

FYI, Saturday night around 11:00 I was driving through the neighborhood on my way home, when I saw 3 teenage boys, maybe 14 years old, peering in the windows of an entire line of cars on Farragut between Hampton and Wellesley. I confronted them, and it played out something like this:

ME: 'what are you guys doing'?

THEM: 'going home'

ME: 'do you live in this neighborhood'?

THEM: no answer

ME: 'why are you looking in these cars'?

THEM: no answer

ME: 'do you know that someone has been breaking into cars in this neighborhood'?

THEM: no answer

ME: ok, well don't do anything stupid around here...not in this neighborhood.

I drove away...they kept walking...and I reported the incident to 911 once I got home.

Hope I didn't give some innocent kids a hard time, but their behavior was definitely suspicious.

Hello Neighbors,
We live on Farragut right off Jackson.  When I got into my van this morning I noticed the center console and glove compartment opened.  I had accidentally left the van unlocked overnight at the of our long driveway and someone opened the car and went through everything.  Nothing was taken.  We keep a porch light on all night and a light in the back yard.  Neighbors tell me that Farragut has experienced very little with this type of attempted theft.  Please be sure to take all valuables out of your car at night.  Thankfully, my car is only full of empty juice boxes and other icky things.
