Greetings from Kelly Strayhorn Theater! KST’s long-running Freshworks series will welcome dancer and choreographer Anya Collins and their new performance in progress Fugue on Friday & Saturday, May 2-3, 7:30pm - 9:00pm (Post-show discussion included).
Inspired by Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque music, Fugue explores the relationship between music, societal structures, and attention. The dance piece uses “fugue” — a musical form where phrases chase and build on each other — and its fragmented structure to embody the struggle between focus and distraction in today’s fast-paced media landscape.
Anya is deeply involved with the Pittsburgh local dance scene, and they would love to hear your feedback on the new work and see your support!
