I’m a Master’s student at Duquesne University, earning my certifications in teaching ESL and Spanish at the K-12 level. As an undergraduate, I spent a summer studying in Peru, a total immersion experience in Spanish. While I am still in the process of earning my teaching certification, I recently passed the Praxis exam in Spanish - required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to certify that a prospective teacher’s Spanish proficiency reaches at least the Advanced level, as defined by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages.

I can tailor lessons to students at any age or level, from those already taking Spanish classes in school to those just starting out. Before I start work with any student, we’ll discuss their goals and interests to figure out the best approach for each individual (either by email or in a separate, free session). We may use games, music, videos or all of the above to introduce vocabulary, learn grammar and improve communication and comprehension skills.
