Dear Neighbors –
I have been asked to pass on
this opportunity for our neighborhood children to be part of making the future
mosaics that will be put up on the wall along One Wild
Place above Kid’s Kingdom at the Pittsburgh
Zoo and PPG Aquarium. This will allow people to actually help build the
different mosaics that will be mounted on the wall after the completion rebuild
that has already started. Public Works has already removed the old sidewalk
and installed a storm sewer on the part of the road coming up around the bend.
The wall shall follow suit, with the mosaic to be installed after all the work
is completed. Citiparks is scheduling several dates for people to get
involved, just like to tent that they set up at the Sweet 16 Rededication Ceremony
for the Super Playground on Sunday, 09 JUN 07. Two dates have been listed
below for the Farmhouse here in Highland Park to
get the local kids (Yes, those young at heart can participate as well) involved
in the making of a future landmark here in Highland Park. Any questions involving these
activities should be addressed to Morton Brown’s contact information
below.

Artists Laura Jean McLaughlin and Bob Ziller will be on hand with
concrete figures that will go into the new mosaic mural for the "Zoo
wall".
Everyone is welcome to come and help place mosaic tiles onto these
figures that will eventually be permanently installed onto the retaining wall
near the Pittsburgh Zoo.
Come out, bring your kids and be a part of history in the making!
Thanks
