Officers responded to a report of a passerby who found a small child clothed only in a blanket, standing in front of a house on Hamilton Avenue. The home was reported to be in deplorable condition and an infant was alone on the couch, so the witness called 911. Glass was missing from some windows, the floor was covered in dirt, dirty clothing and garbage was strewn about the residence, and there was inadequate food in the refrigerator. The children were wearing soiled diapers and the mattresses in the home were also soiled. Officers took the children (ages, 1, 2, and 6) into emergency protective custody and notified CYF.
