RABKIN JAPANESE GARDEN - WINTER TOUR
Presenters/Workshop Leaders: Dr. Michael Rabkin
To attend, please email hpgcpgh@gmail.com by Monday, 11/10
Over the past few years, we've had the delight of visiting the Rabkin Japanese Garden in Tarentum in three different seasons - spring, summer and fall. This year's program will complete the cycle. Grab warm clothing and come explore the unique beauty of the Rabkin Japanese Garden in early winter, when the Zen beauty of structural elements like bare branches and bark, hidden from view in the lusher seasons, are revealed. Berries and seed heads, dried flower stems and grasses in various colors, textures and sizes are also on display.

SUNDAY, November 16 (please note the day). Our host will be Dr. Michael Rabkin, who, along with his wife Beth, created the gardens in honor of his father and mother, Hy and Irma Rabkin. Dr. Rabkin will speak about the garden’s evolution, and we will have ample time afterwards for leisurely exploring.
The gardens are located roughly 15 miles northeast of Highland Park via Rte 28, at 419 E 2nd Avenue, Tarentum PA 15084. Free parking is available in an adjacent lot and on-street.
Shelter is available in case of rain. Carpooling is encouraged. Closer to the 15th, an email will go out to the people who have signed up so that they can contact each other if they wish to carpool.
The program is free to HPGC members. Nonmembers are welcome;
a $10 donation through Eventbrite is suggested. All are welcome to join the club -
