If you or your children are considering keeping some rats as pets, a) let me encourage you! They're wonderful pets! and b) you'll need a sizeable cage and supplies. We're finished with rats for now, so I'm giving away the basics you'd need to get started:

- two-level cage, 24" W x 14" D x 36" H, with a deep plastic pan (Rat Tower by Martin's Cages, powdercoated)

- two glass water bottles and mounts

- two ceramic food dishes

- plastic igloo

- litter tray

- tunnels and hides

- exercise wheel

- cat carrier for trips to the vet
