tip on a current phone scam:
If someone calls you and says "hi
grandpa"(mom, dad, grandma, uncle) or any other generic name ... and then says
something like "you don't know who you're talking to?" expecting you to guess
their name ...
Think twice right here ...
If you tell them any name
(just pick one out of the blue) and they say "yes" to that ... then of course
you know it's a scam.
I made the mistake of guessing it was my nephew, because his dad, my brother,
always jokingly calls me grandpa, so this scammer had me going for a minute or 2
more.
No harm done, he chickened out and hung up once I started asking a few
questions.
