A recent article in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette highlighted the expansion of the state's Spotted Lanternfly quarantine zone to include Butler, Clearfield, Clinton, Fayette, Lawrence and Somerset Counties, due to the continued spread of the insect. The quarantine zone now contains 51 of the state's 67 counties, including Allegheny County. A link to the Post Gazette article follows.

We hope you will join the HPGC for a Zoom presentation about the Spotted Lantern Fly at 10 am on March 18. This program will be free to all (members and non-members alike), due to the serious nature of this invasive pest and given the role we can all play in its control. A link to the website with the Zoom access follows.

HPGC programs and events are free to members, and non-members are invited to participate in individual events and presentations by making a donation through Eventbrite (the Spotted Lanternfly program is an exception, and is free to all). A 2023 annual membership is $20. Online and mail-in options are available for joining as a new member and for membership renewal by clicking here
