Our Library, Our Future is a community-based initiative to provide
financial support for Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. A referendum will be
on the November 8 ballot asking voters to approve a 0.25 mills special tax to be
levied on all real estate in the City of Pittsburgh. This is equivalent to
$25.00 per year or $2.09 per month on $100,000 of assessed value. All
money raised as a result of this tax can be used only to aid in the maintenance
and operation of Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and cannot be used for any other
purpose. This tax would go into effect January 1, 2012. Learn more
