The Steel City Studio Tour (SCST) presents its inaugural event on Saturday, October 1 and Sunday, October 2 from 11am to 5pm, each day. While visiting professional ceramic studios, guests will be able to purchase handmade pottery and clay artwork and get a behind-the-scenes look at the ceramic art process. The Steel City Studio Tour is free and open to everyone.

 

Over 20 ceramic artists and collectives, both local and visiting, will present artwork at this year’s SCST. Ceramic wares for sale include mugs, bowls, platters, vases, teapots, wall art, ornaments and more – with prices ranging from $10 to $200. A wide range of techniques and styles will be showcased, from wood-fired to wheel-thrown to hand-built pottery, there is something for everyone’s style.

 

Steel City Studio Tour is organized and presented by a collaborative group of Pittsburgh potters and studios. Union Project is acting as the fiscal sponsor to SCST. The tour was created to connect the greater Pittsburgh ceramics community, invite guests into clay studios, and provide a sales opportunity for artists.
