I joined Urban Active a couple of months ago and while I really like the gym, I was stunned by the cost of a personal trainer and also by the fact that I would have to 'hire' one for a YEAR. When I asked about a shorter term, (3 to 6 months), I was told that it had to be for a year. I have found that there is a LOT more to weight loss, resistance training, cardio, and free weights and machines than I ever knew. Anyone have experience with trainers and if so, what did you think? Was it helpful? I know what I want in terms of strength training and toning, but am concerned that there is a lot of room for error since there is so much to learn.
