The RCC’s Pride concert Got Milk? will be June 1st and 2nd at the Pittsburgh Opera in the Strip District. The Men's and Women's Choirs will perform music inspired by icon and martyr for gay rights Harvey Milk. Everyone knows Harvey Milk’s story – his election as the first openly gay man to hold public office in California and his brutal assassination 11 months later. President Obama posthumously awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom and his birthday is designated as Harvey Milk Day in California. We devote this concert to exploring the development of the GLBT movement – from the people like Harvey Milk who inspired us through direct political action to the musicians and songwriters who raised our consciousness of the GLBT and feminist movements. Got Milk? is dedicated to remembering our past and inspiring our youth to lead us into the future. You’ll leave the show feeling uplifted and inspired.
The Pittsburgh Opera is located at 2425 Liberty Avenue. Pittsburgh, PA 15222
Hope you can join us!
