“Many Hands” Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration 2012January 16th 4-8pm
Union Project once again has partnered with dozens of local agencies, artists, and people of faith to host Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration 2012. This year’s event, themed “Many Hands,” celebrates the thousands of people who held hands in peace marches across our nation during King’s life, the thousands of volunteers who have helped rebuild the former church in which UP resides today, and the participants invited to lend a hand in a community mosaic project during the event.
4-5PM: Peace Parade with The Kelly-Strayhorn Theater and The MGR Foundation begins at Kelly-Strayhorn Theatre (6000 Penn Ave.) and ends at Union Project .
4-6PM: Community Mosaic Project (Union Project Atrium)
4-5:45PM: Story Telling (Union Project Board Room)
5:45-6PM: Dramatic Reading (Union Project Great Hall)
6-8PM Community Dinner (Union Project Great Hall)
