COASTAL NAVIGATION CLASS MARCH 22 - 23, 2014

Erie Islands Sailing School will be offering the American Sailing Association COASTAL NAVIGATION & PILOTING Class in the Cleveland area the weekend of March 22 - 23, 2014.

This two day classroom program will have you learn the navigational skills required to safely navigate a vessel in coastal or inland waters.  The course covers traditional (non-electronic) navigation principles and techniques.  These include, but are not limited to:  nautical charts, traditional navigation tools (Compass, Dividers, Parallel Rules), Deduced Reckoning (DR) navigation, correcting for magnetic variation and deviation in course lines and bearings, taking and plotting fixes, correcting for current and leeway, plotting running fixes and the use of Tide and Current Tables.  

COURSE TUITION:   $395 per person

CLASS IS LIMITED TO 15 STUDENTS

Tuition includes:   ASA Coastal Navigation Text, Practice Chart, US Chart #1, Navigation Rules, Plotting Tools (Dividers and Parallel Rule) and ASA Certification.  Lunch is included both Saturday and Sunday.

Time:     8:30 to 5:30 each day
