I just called HARP (Humane Animal Rescue) and was told that the sweet dog found chasing a bus on Mellon Terrace is there now. She has been checked medically and is fine and friendly but nervous. She has no collar or chip- only the harness. She is being held as a stray for 48 hours before having her available for adoption.

I was also told that HARP is at capacity for dogs- around 200 at both facilities- and the waiting list to surrender dogs is very long. I was also told that there have been many dogs let loose outside of both facilities after hours very often. Such a sad state of affairs, for so many reasons.
