I want to weigh in on this movie. If you haven't seen it DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE to get there. It is really an amazing film. I blogged about it here: http://thomascwaters.com/2013/11/17/a-gay-man-sees-the-film-blood-brothers/ On Jan 30, 2014, at 8:30 AM, Helen Blier <pacem1@gmail.com> wrote:
Hi neighbors - If you're looking for a terrific way to spend your Friday evening tomorrow, I've got something for your consideration...
My office (Continuing Educaiton) will be hosting a screening of the Sundance-award winning documentary Blood Brother at the Seminary on Fri. Jan 31 at 7pm in HIcks Auditorium (below the chapel). It's a film by Pittsburghers about a young Pittsburgh man who finds his heart and sense of meaning in an orphanage for kids with AIDS in India. We will have producer Danny Yourd on hand for Q&A as well.
We are asking for a suggested $5 donation at the door to benefit LIGHT, the organization sponsoring the orphanage.
Rocky Braat, the subject of the film, looks an awful lot like young people you probably know and love. Round up your favorite people, join us, and celebrate the remarkable capacity of the human heart and will.
