Hello neighbors,

I'm currently serving in Literacy*AmeriCorps, and we, along with numerous other Corps in the city of Pittsburgh, are planning a large scale service project event in Wilkinsburg this Saturday, May 8, to kick of National AmeriCorps Week.  We are going to be doing urban gardening and beautification, and we need your assistance with supplies!

We are looking for the following supplies to be donated:
1. EXTERIOR paint and spray paint.  This will be used on the recycled tires we're using for tire gardens.
2. Acrylic paint for arts and crafts.  We're painting plant pots with youth who attend the event.
3. Used CDs.  These will also be broken up and used for a mosaic effect on the pots.
4. Flower and ground cover seeds (no edibles please). These will be planted in the tire gardens.
5. Hosta plants--we have a few houses that we're cleaning out the front yards of that have huge trees in them.  We'd love to be able to plant some shade loving plants below them to pretty it up a bit.  I'd be more than willing to come dig them out :-)
