My agency, ACHIEVA, is looking for people who would be able to walk in the 2008 Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community on May 3 at Heinz Field. ACHIEVA is the largest provider of lifetime supports for people with intellectual disabilities and developmental delays and their families in our region. ACHIEVA's programs cover all of western Pennsylvania but our two main offices are in Beaver and on the South Side of Pittsburgh.

ACHIEVA along with 36 other charities are the beneficiaries of this event. Highmark pays for all of the costs associated with the walk so all of the money raised by us and the other agencies goes right back to us.

There is no cost to participate but a donation is required to receive a walk t-shirt. Participants are encouraged to collect donations to sponsor them. Donations may be turned in the day of the event.
