FRENCH IMMERSION INSTITUTE 2012
Zineb Outnouna Keynote Speaker!

On October 20th, 2012 our CEO, Zineb Outnouna, was the keynote speaker at the University of Pittsburgh. Her talk was part of the FRENCH IMMERSION INSTITUTE 2012, sponsored and hosted by the European Union Center of Excellence & European Studies Center.

Her lecture, about the Evolution of the Moroccan Woman, was conducted in French as it was designed for French instructors and advanced level college students.  The intent was to broaden their cultural understanding of current events and international studies regarding French-speaking countries.  Another goal was to strengthen their French listening and speaking skills.  A third benefit was to share strategies for the teaching of French language and culture.

The event was a great success. Ms. Outnouna received much praise from the participants. We are proud to share with you a few of their comments :

  • "I learned a lot about a Francophone country and the challenges for its underprivileged female class."
  • "Her presentation included many examples of how Moroccan women are being liberated. Her pictures were a great reinforcement."
  • "Great culture information, facts and visuals to share with my students; the presenter's real life experiences and knowledge enhanced the presentation."
  • "Ms. Outnouna explained issues very clearly; I'll be able to replicate the presentation for my students."

WE HAVE ADDED MORE LANGUAGES!

   Mandarin Chinese

Mandarin Chinese is one of the important languages in the world. It is the standard language for a quarter of the world's population. Learning Mandarin Chinese will open doors of communication with over one billion people! If this is not a good enough reason to start learning today, consider the fact that China has the fastest growing major economy in the World. With an impressive rate, Chinese is becoming the future language for business. Just as learning English was necessary to infiltrate the American markets, Mandarin Chinese will eventually rise to that level and be the language of choice for future generations.

   Russian

Did you know that despite the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russian is still one of the most important languages culturally and in business? Russian is the primary language for over 150 million citizens and over 30 million people living in the states which were formed after the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

Russia has the largest new sources of natural gas and petroleum and is positioned as Europe's energy leader. Learning Russian can open the door of employment in any field related to energy. Becoming fluent in Russian also creates an advantage in the growing markets of the former Soviet Union.

 German

German has gained much power in the recent years thanks to the economic strength of German-speaking countries. It is no wonder that 68% of Japanese students study German. They understand that this economic power could only translate to more business opportunities.

German firms with US operations such as BMW, Daimler, Siemens, Lufthansa, SAP, Bosch would choose someone with German literacy over an equally qualified candidate.  Thus, Americans who speak German would have a greater advantage in landing a position with one these reputable companies.
